A new and interesting opportunity is available for a Health & Safety and Compliance Advisor to assist the satisfactory delivery of civil engineering projects with a growing civils contractor, working to both internal and external policy.
The company is an established contractor who operate across projects within the general civils, residential and public sector markets.
Their offices are located within the Leeds area, however your role will be split between some home working, site visits and visits to the office as required, so you don’t necessarily have to be based in the Leeds area, it will be upto you to plan your week.
The main duties are as follows;
- A key part of the role will be to manage, check and audit internal compliance (working to best practise) for all live projects that are on site.
- Working with the site delivery teams to maintain required QA levels, whilst delivering improvements and change in a collaborative way.
- Perform audits at both site and office level, checking all areas of compliance and HSE are in line with company and contractual requirements.
- The role will also involve management of company Health & Safety, with the support of a specialist HSE consultant who assists on some of the more specialised parts of this area.
- You will be responsible for developing the yearly strategy on company compliance and HSE, working closing with the Senior Management team.
To be considered for this role you should fit the following criteria;
- Have operated in a dual Compliance and HSE roll that has had a key focus on managing and overseeing the delivery of projects to company best practice.
- Have a background within the construction sector, and experience within the rail and civil engineering sectors being beneficial.
- Hold a recognised HSE qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Be a self-motivated individual being able to operate in autonomous role.
- Hold a strong IT skill set.
- Have a full UK driving licence.
